Moscow Busted Mugshots
Moscow is the seat of Latah County and its largest city. The 2020 count, cited in the county's 2025 hazard plan, put the population at 25,435. Policing splits two ways here. The Moscow Police Department handles the city itself. The Latah County Sheriff's Office covers patrol, dispatch, and contract services for the rest of the county. That division is the first thing to sort out when an arrest record matters, since the arresting agency shapes where the paper trail leads. MPD's Daily Activity Log can carry a press-log event, a case or incident number, a call or offense type, a location, a disposition, the reported time, CAD comments, and an arrest flag. It offers no booking number. No bond figure, no holding facility, no photograph. County custody follows a separate track from the city incident log. Overnight operations at the Latah County Jail ended on October 1, 2025. After that, the Latah Sheriff contracted with the Nez Perce County Sheriff to house people arrested in Latah County for criminal offenses. An MPD arrest may be written up in Moscow, processed through the county deal, and listed by Nez Perce after transport. Watch for stale links too. Some older Latah pages still point to the jail's former name.
The dated court docket is the place to see what was actually filed. Booking paperwork from MPD is just the start of that story.
Where Moscow Busted Mugshots Appear
Moscow puts out more public incident material than Latah's smaller cities. Even so, each source answers a different question. Start with the official channels. Local news and unofficial mirror sites come after those, never before.
| Source | Photo status | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| MPD Daily Activity Log | No booking photo observed | Moscow incidents, press-log fields, disposition, and arrest indicator. |
| Nez Perce In Custody | No photo in observed report | Current overnight host, facility-wide list, daily update with lag and no Latah filter. |
| Latah-branded portal | Indexed Photo field; current display uncertain | Legacy or transitional Latah booking fields. Live endpoint returned HTTP 500 during research. |
| Moscow NextRequest | Photo may be requested | City records intake for MPD reports, photographs, video, audio, 911, and radio. |
| Idaho iCourt | Not a routine photo source | Unsealed case events, hearings, filings, and disposition. |
| Local news and unofficial pages | Varies; not a verified roster | Daily News, KLEW, KHQ, Moscow Report, and named unofficial county mirrors provide secondary context. |
RecentlyBooked, Mugshots.com, and Arrests.org have carried Latah or Moscow listings, but none of them is official and the entries can sit untouched for a long time. Busted Newspaper showed no verified Latah section. Mugshots.zone showed no verified Idaho section at all. For anything that matters, MPD, LCSO, Nez Perce, and the court outrank every one of these aggregators.
Busted in Moscow: Find a Booking
A Moscow search works best in steps. Pull the incident record first. That tells you an event happened. Then check the current detention host for possible custody. Finally, turn to the court, which shows what became of the case.
- Search the MPD Daily Activity Log by the event date and read the case number, location, disposition, and arrest indicator.
- Check the Nez Perce report for a possible current custody match after transport. Confirm recent status at (208) 799-3132 because the list is facility-wide.
- Use the Latah portal only as a secondary official view if it loads. Save its timestamp and do not assume its Photo field reflects current coverage.
- Search iCourt by case number or party name for unsealed hearings, charges, and disposition.
- Use the MPD or LCSO written-record route for a report, booking sheet, release record, or photograph that is not public.
The Latah County booking hub covers every route. That means the roster, the feed, state DOC, courts, and record requests. One wrinkle matters here. City police can arrest someone who never lands in a city custody file.
Moscow Police Records
Requests now go through Moscow NextRequest, per the City's Request Records page. The MPD Public Records Request form still helps as a field guide. It wants a case number. Without one, give an arrest or report date. Add the location, the crime, a name, and other identifiers. Categories span reports, photos, video and audio, 911 calls, and radio traffic.

Use NextRequest for current electronic intake.
- Identify the MPD case or activity-log entry.
- Request the exact report, photograph, or audio item in writing.
- Ask whether the item is an MPD incident photo or a detention booking photo.
- Review the response, estimate, and any exemption explanation before treating the result as complete.
The MPD form promises an answer in three business days under Idaho Code §74-103(2). Production itself can drag longer. The form uses separate language for Idaho and non-Idaho residents. Retrieval, review, and redaction time may cost money under §74-102(10), and staff give an estimate before processing starts. The form was revised in 2024. Online intake moved to NextRequest in 2026. Use the portal and the form together.
Moscow Daily Activity Log
The MPD Daily Activity Log lists the ten newest press-log posts plus a View All archive. One entry can hold an incident or case number, a call or offense type, the address, a disposition, the time reported, CAD comments, and an arrest indicator. That format makes it a fine tool for pinning down a Moscow event and its date.
It is not a booking roster, though. No mugshot appears there. Bond amounts, detention facility, release date, booking number, and court outcome all sit outside its scope. An arrest flag does not mean the person stayed in custody either. For the current jail host, use Nez Perce. For the court case, use iCourt.
The official source is the Moscow Police Daily Activity Log. Check its dates when you use it, since the index and entries shift over time.
The capture above reflects the city's incident channel. It does not rehost booking photos.
Why Moscow Busted Searches Split
The jail transition leaves a time gap. MPD can log a Moscow arrest before transport and intake at the Nez Perce host finish. Nez Perce updates its database every 24 hours, reports refresh Monday through Thursday, and weekend or holiday activity posts Monday. Recent status can trail behind reality.
The old Latah portal may still help with older or transitional booking fields. Its live endpoint has returned HTTP 500 errors, and no public policy explains how photos display there or how long they persist. A missing result can mean transport, release, a spelling mismatch, an outage, or a different custodian entirely.
Watch three things on any record: the source timestamp, the facility label, and the agency name. "Moscow arrest" marks where the event happened. It says nothing on its own about current custody.
Moscow Agency and Court Split
Who handled the Moscow arrest matters less than where the case lands. State felonies go to the Latah Prosecutor no matter which agency made the bust. For MPD misdemeanors and infractions, call the Moscow City Attorney at (208) 883-7003. So a report request points to MPD. Questions about how a case turned out belong with the court or the prosecutor's office.
The Latah District Court clerk sits at 522 South Adams Street, Room 119, Moscow. The phone number is (208) 883-2255. Idaho iCourt sometimes lists public case events, though sealed or exempt items stay off the screen. What if the MPD log shows an arrest but no court case turns up? Timing, sealing, a different jurisdiction, or simply no filed case can explain the gap.
Write down the incident number, the court case number, and the dates you pulled each record. Those identifiers beat a headline or an informal city label every time.
Moscow Crime Coverage
For local crime reporting, the Moscow-Pullman Daily News does the heaviest lifting. It runs daily stories plus regular PUBLIC RECORDS items. KLEW, KHQ, and Moscow Report each pick up selected Moscow and county events. A story might name the agency, quote a release, or describe a custody event without ever printing a booking photo.
News photos run the full range. A scene shot, a facility, an officer, a file image, or an actual booking photo from a source. Captions and credits deserve a close look. The Latah County news page breaks down how often each outlet publishes and how to trace a story back to the official record.
Third-party county pages have their own quirks. RecentlyBooked claims to refresh its county page several times daily yet still leans on old Latah Jail wording. Mugshots.com carries historical city labels. Arrests.org listed no current Latah results. Treat all of these as secondary sources with gaps.
From Moscow Arrest to Court
When the MPD log or booking record gives you a case number, plug it into Idaho iCourt. Name searches work better once you narrow them by county, date, and matching details. The docket can display first appearance, preliminary hearing, arraignment, filed charges, bond conditions, later hearings, plea, dismissal, and judgment.
Jurisdiction sets the next move. State felony matters belong to the county prosecutor regardless of arresting agency. MPD misdemeanors and infractions route to the Moscow City Attorney. Court filings often reshape what a news story or initial booking entry first reported.
Follow the disposition. Charges filed after a Moscow arrest are often reduced, amended, or dismissed, so the court record is the one worth tracking.
Busted, Released, or Sentenced in Moscow
Someone released from Nez Perce custody can vanish from the current-host report. The MPD incident, the LCSO or detention file, and the court case all still exist. VINE sends custody notifications for participating facilities, but it holds no photos. A transfer also shifts which agency answers your records question.
Once a case reaches Idaho Department of Correction jurisdiction, the IDOC Resident/Client Search is the tool to use. It is not a same-day Moscow booking feed, and it shows no public photo. Federal and immigration locators handle entirely different custody questions.
For an older Moscow record, ask MPD or the identified detention custodian for the exact item. Latah has published no photo-retention schedule. Nothing says when an online image or record must come down.
